I want to know where is a good place to buy high end recievers that are broken? reason for this is to see what kind of components they use to build it and salvage the expensive components to build one "like the transformer and heat sinks" and the exterior.

Probably not worth it unless you don't care what you build. The components you mention may not be off-shelf so they are developed to fit the application they are used in and may thus not fit yours. Recycling electronic components wouldn't be my first choice either.

You have any idea how much a 1000watt transformer cost? or heatsinks to dissapate heat for a 100watt channel would cost? Each can easily cost over a 100 dollars each because we buy them in small quantities. while for a companie that buy them by the 1000s can cut thoese prices buy half some times by more. I work in a companie and we do smt production for products we build and for outside customers. Let me tell you we do recycles parts some times because of late parts that come in but we havent scrapped the boards that didnt work because most parts on it still works and have only been soldered once. And by IPC standards Class 3 "Military" you can do it 3 times maximume befor you have to throw out the part.
That is for part recycling, my other section of my question was i was curiouse to see what kind of parts "companys, chip models..." they used to make there reciever work for what is called high end. |

I'd check Audiokarma for broken vintage stuff, I'd have faith there's more metal in there than the newer ones
Or just check Craigslist or your local fleamarkets...amazing what turns up sometimes.
