Default Musical fidelity pre amp pot

Hi all i have a musical fidelity THE PRE AMP and the pot is broke and im haveing trouble finding a simular replacement its a 50k any help would be great

I've seen something similar from Digikey. I'm not sure whether the pinout would be the same, however.

I've never seen one with that pinout before. It looks as though wiring up a "standard" type would be easy enough with some extra lead-out wires, if it comes to that.

Yes it may have to be done like that, I have never seen a stereo pot like that before

You might be able to fit a Panasonic EVJ in there (digikey p/n P2U4503)

put inside any decent stereo pot ;

you'll need just litle thinkering where to put gnd , in , out wires ;

I repaired recently one - with blue ALPS fitted in factory .

btw - that's the same drek concept as line stage in A1 - overcomplicated , with pot in feedback net .

that's the reason why MF preamps and amps of that era are pot-eaters .... because of present DC on them .

Hi again yes i will get an alps one off ebay as its cheaper than paying £12 shiping from digi key

I think that is the right choice.

As ZM says though, it looks over-complex for a pre-amp, and at some future point I'd encourage you to look at something good like Pedja Rogic's buffer, which is simple and wonderful sounding.

I bet it's at least quite good though...
