I picked up an odd 3k reisitor at my local surpus store not long ago. It looks like some sort of bulk resistor rather than a film, but it's hard to say. From the picture, does anyone recognize the trademark?

Never seen it before, but at one time there were a surprising number of small resistor companies, most on the west coast. I think they supplied mostly military and precision instrumentation markets. Do you have several? Could smash one open to see how it's built. My guess is it's a wire wound, but could be film.

I whacked it open - it's a very well-made botique carbon comp. Tell-tale signs were the sucked-in lead terminations and no end cap bulges like in a film or wirewound part, but the actual cross-section says it all. The white outer shell contains a bulk carbon element encased in what appears to be phenolic, no doubt hot-molded like the Allen-Bradley boys used to boast....
