Hello All,
first time poster here, please excuse my new questions! :> I'm working on schematicing out a very old bass guitar pre-amp. I have to schematic it out in a totally non-destructive manor because it doesnt belong to me and its worth about 6 grand. I've been able to able to schematic and figure everything out except for one part: a small audio transformer. The transformer is made by Walters OEP in the UK, and im pretty sure is a custom made piece. The part number on it is A262A5E. Walters OEP lists lots of parts numbers that are close, but not that exact one. Here is a link Walters OEP I've tried writing walters OEP but they were useless. Now I have to figure out the specs on this transformer by myself. I know from product literature on the bass that it is a 600 ohm transformer. It's got seven pins (Primary 1, Primary 2, Secondary 1, secondary 2, F(?) 1 and F2, and a ground. So my question is this.. Can I figure out the specs of this transformer without unsoldering it from the board? If so what do I need to do it? I have access to the bottom side of the circuit board so I can get at the pins with a probe... I have the following equipment at my disposal: Fluke DMM Extech LCR meter Function generator 2 channel scope with XY Gauss meter Will all the other resistors and caps in the board throw off the measurement? Thanks for ANY help or guidance Matt |
