Many home theatre builders do it. Some audiophiles do it.
It would want to do more than isolate the occasional click when a fridge turns on.

How much benefit is there (if building) in a dedicated power line?

Will some sort of power filter provide a similar benefit for a similar cost (and when the time comes, you can take it with you)?

I supouse this could be an interesting reading. www.russandrews.com In the free download booklet section, you can find an article, about all aspects of main power suply influence on the performance of audio or video sistem and tips and ideas how to deal with the problems, coming out of it. I do use a dedicated main power suply line (the sistem is located in a new part of the hous, builded a years after the old one) using (thicker) cabels with lower resistance than usualy for that purpouse. No blow main fuses(only circ. breakers). Sound is quite more cleaner and pleasing to me, then in the old part of the house. No pops and cliks.
