I'm trying to read the beta on some pretty old germanium transistors. I know I can't use a modern DMM since they assume no leakage current between collector-emitter.
The thing is.. does anyone know how does changing the voltage affects the leakage? I checked the leakage current with my DMM with 5V, 2.5V and 1V across C-E with the base unconnected and it all seems to be around 0.1mA so I guess the leakage is very small to meassure using a standard DMM. Any other ideas about how to do this? |
