Default XLR connector compatibility?

Can somebody tell me if the following 4 parts will work with each other?

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=093-252
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=093-240
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=092-034
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=092-036

Specifically, will the locking latches work between Neutrik/Switchcraft for both of those pairs?

Hello 454Casull, Since they are all XLR style connectors, they should work fine with each other. XLR connectors are based upon a standard design. I forget who created, but Switchcraft is pretty much the standard bearer name. Neutrik is a newer company from Switzerland. Good connectors.

Peace,

Dave

From A Brief History of the XLR Connector:

The IEC Standardized the dimensions of the XLR type connector but specified a very loose tolerance for the distance from the end of the female contact carrier to the body of the connector. Switchcraft brand connectors (and copies of them from Asia) are made to the shorter end of the allowed tolerance range, while Neutrik brand connectors (and copies of them from Asia) are made towards the long end of the allowed tolerance range. At times this results in connectors that will not latch when manufacturers don't properly follow the IEC Standard for their male connectors.

Thanks for the info Steve. Scary that someone as ubiquitous as an XLR is still that non-standardized. Especially when it's considered a standard!

I think the old Cannon corp. made these first......first time I saw them, in the 60s, they were called Cannon plugs...
