Welcome to MEHTA EXPORTS - There is no substitute for Quality
The problem with pads that they are not meant for switch contacts.. will worn out fast ,
Using turrets is an idea ,any turrent come like a rivet?
something related i am searching.
something like i will plug in silver rivets and use .

I have developed the tight coupling arrangements .

Use any plastic as shaft.I am testing with a refill .Stopper is a piece cut from ball pen and glued to shaft with super glue.

once fitted the spring is compressed ,tries to expand and keeps the wiper and contact boards tightly held.

I bought this.

DACT Type 21 Stepped Attenuator Potentiometer 100K 2A3 | eBay

I replaced the Alps Blue velvet in my pre-amp. It sounds great, better than the Alps but i don't know how long it will last. Time will show. I recommend to give it a try.
The sound has become much more clear & dynamic.
