Can you post a picture and details? What's it from, package, pin count, etc?

Does it have a date code?
Does it have an additional prefix or suffix? What is it next to? A microcontroller, an encoder, an LED, a power transistor, a modem? What does the board do? Is it an amplifier board? Is it a PC motherboard? Is it from a TV? It's much easier to reverse-engineer a board and ID components with a picture, thorough board description, knowing the board function, nearby components, what pins of the IC are Vcc and ground, etc. I'd love to help but still need more data.

..the pcb is actually a car ECU...there are only 2 ICs on it and a few other passive components... the other IC is a big one so 100% that's the "processor" and my guess is that the small IC is the memory where all parameters are updated ... since no other IC around i'm more convinced that this should be the memory chip...
