suitable replacement for bipolar 2N2222

Gang,

I'm ordering parts from mouser for the Pimm revision to the Swenson high voltage regulator. Pimm specs a bipolar transistor and this specific one is backordered at mouser....can someone help me find a suitable replacement?

bipolar npn 2N2222
TO-18 package through hole
6V emitter base voltage
1200mW dissipation

Just order the STMicroelectronics 2N2222A instead of the Central Semiconductor part (Mouser part number 511-2N2222A). Mouser shows 1,527 in stock.

The 2N2222A and its complementary, 2N2907A, both come in plastic and metal can packages. The latter may present a problem for thermal coupling.

Thanks Steve and Samuel for the very quick feedback. I think both those parts have metal cases so I went ahead and ordered the STmicro replacement.
