I have many switches, jacks and pots that are lacking the mounting hardware. Does anyone know a good on-line source with wide selection for ordering various sized (US and metric) trim nuts and washers? I've tried the normal places (digikey etc.,..) and Google is not helpful. For example I'd like a dozen 7mm thin black nuts.

Try McMaster-Carr, they have an unbelievable selection of hardware. I don't know if they have exactly what you need but if anybody does they will. I use them for all sorts of materials to build equipment.
