Does anyone have experience with modding with these Nichicon LF series caps? If you look at the pics of the inside guts of some high end amps, they appear to have these in them. Look at your Audio Advisor catalog for an example. See attached.
Are they good or bad? Thanks, Tom |

From what i have read, it is very similar to OS-CON`s. Good for local decoupling in rails (low esr, good for high frequence)

I've used a few of the very similar Nippon Chemicon PSA series for decoupling digital ICs. They're solid polymer caps, great for decoupling digital stuff as the have a low ESR even at high frequencies.
I can't say I'd use them in an amplifier though, regular low impedance electrolytics seem more appropriate. Unless it's a Class D amp I suppose. |

I have used OS-CON`s as local decoupling in a preamp with very good result
