Default Crooks IC's sellers on EBAY !

Hi There !

Just a message to inform the community about my last IC's transaction on Ebay:

First seller: LCI electronics from Sofia, Bulgaria, MR. Filip Borisov Tsekovski.

Ebay ID : lci_electronics

This seller called Used, second hand IC's as PULLS (God knows what that word means???), if you are not a specialist in English, or do not pay attention to what is written, you are fucked, like me. Maybe someone could enlighten me with what this new word means? After several e-mails, this arrogant seller refused to refund his trash goods (of course) and stood his ground firmly, he replied me rudely as well!!! Beware this man is a real crook !

Second seller: ARIEL TRADING from Malaysia, MR. Seow Leng Kong.

Ebay ID : ariel_trading

I ordered TTL IC's than the seller guaranteed to be 100% brand new. Most of my received order are in fact second-hand USED ic's. After making excuses and promises to give him a second chance, I do not yet obtain IC replacement, or any proposals of refund.

Fake components, tricky terms and tricky advertisements seems to be very common on Ebay now. I suggest you to be extra cautious when making purchases on this website...

Observe the Pin's of the IC's bellow:

"Pulls" means that the IC's were pulled from some piece of equipment.

Yes, that is the exact meaning in English: stuff salvaged from used equipment, and usually sold "as-is"

Doesn't seem like a real crook, merely someone with a low patience threshold for morons.

From some piece of equipment that more often than not - worked. When buying dirt-cheap or out of production parts I'd rather have pulls than something that could be a fake. If it's new at a price too good to be true it usually is. If it's a pull, it's usually priced appropriately.

Not sure why you'd use ebay. Digikey stocks the 74LS393N for 90 cents. http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...=296-1665-5-ND

I have bought Nixie tubes and drivers from Zhori of LCI and he
was very decent to deal with. Items were as described and well packed.
Very patient and understanding of
delayed payment by me, as he did not take paypal (my preferred payment
mode) back then.

when i worked at a banking equipment company i kept a stock of "pulls" from obsolete but working equipment. it saved a lot of time and money having the parts i needed on-hand. even though it took some time to get the parts out of the original equipment, it was still worth it, because i didn't have to backlog board repairs for a week while parts were ordered, etc...

And depending on where you work, the labor costs of the paperwork to get something purchased sometimes far exceeds the price of the actual item.
