According to IEEE Spectrum the Tripath TA2020 makes it onto the list of the "25 Microchips That Shook the World".

And that one of the "25 Microchips That Shook the World" is long gone. Interesting to see how it managed to stay on the same article as SPARC, Z80, 8088, and other microprocessing thingies that took a whole lot of time and money to develop and was widely used.
And the 555 timer too, lol. Lucky I have two T-Amps in my house. And they sound really nice for a Class-D. Or T, whatever. "Eventually, the big semiconductor companies caught up, creating similar chips and sending Tripath into oblivion." - Is there any? Why don't I see anything similar on the China market then? |
