15 or so years ago, there used to be a place that I seem to remember was called EDI (for Electronic Distributors International). I used to get catalogs from them and I drove out to buy stuff from time to time. I used to get really nice polystyrene caps from them.
I even think the Active Electronics store in the area closed up too.
Stuck with Radio Shack ... again ....
