Heya all

I am working a bit with an old turntable I bought, a Lenco L78.
It has a DIN cable, but I was planning to cut the cable and solder some female RCA/phono plugs on, but I am a bit unsure how to do this and where to solder each cable, anyone who could help me with it?

Thanks

hello.
usually the copper braid is ground.
sometimes one isolator is red = right channel
and the other is white or black = left channel..........
after changing plugs you can do a listening test with a wellknown lp (inverted channels..........?)
greetings...........

I presume that you'll find two hots and one (or two ) grounds in that cable ;

Yeah and one ground clamped to the chassis somewhere. Using that one mistakenly as hot is an absolute no-no.

Have fun, Hannes

PS: check cartridge-pinout and identify pins/strands using a Multimeter (measure resistance between headshell cables and DIN-pins). Connect your findings following the cartridge-pinout to the RCA and be a happy camper ;)
