Best small signal BJT for DIY audio?

I want to gather suggestions for the "best" small signal audio BJT.

What I'm looking for is your favourite transistor for constant current sources, input stages, diamond buffers and the like, with rails between 15 and 30 volts each.

I am looking for:

- high ft
- high beta / hfe
- low noise
- low cob

I require:

- still in production
- reliable sources (no fakes!) for small quantities
- "reasonable" statistical spread of parameters, unlike BC546, where one is barely good enough as an LED driver, while the one next to it on the tape is a good audio transistor.

I prefer:

- TO-92 over SMD
- "Japanese" pin-out (B-C-E) over "European" pin-out (C-B-E)
- availability of different hfe ranks

My favourite was the now obsolete 2SA1316-GR / 2SC3329-GR Toshiba pair. As my stock is depleted (at least for new projects, still keeping some for repairs), I'm looking for an alternative.

Not sure about fakes, but how about these:
Nec 2SC1845/2SA992,
Toshiba 2SC2240/2SA970 and 2SC1815/2SA1015 ?
