Default New plastic that beats Teflon as dielectric?

I received this in my inbox this morning:

PRESS RELEASE ---- FOR PUBLICATION

1 APRIL 2009

NEW MATERIAL DIELCTRICALLY EXCEEDS TEFLON

A materials research team in Sweden have developed a new plastic which improves upon the previously assumed dielectric perfection of Teflon.

The team, lead by materials engineer Lipra Loof of the University of Marmot in Sweden, has identified that the new material exhibits dielectric qualities in excess of Teflon, and that, if developed as a capacitor dielectric material, has the potential of setting a new standard for audio capacitors.

Doctor Loof stated that: “The material was developed with the intention of use as a material for the manufacture of a new range of condoms, however, as soon as we were made aware of the dielectric properties of the plastic we immediately considered the application of the material as a super-Teflon.”

The new material, chemically named PPK (PolypuTTHe Ketlon) is currently subject to a three-way legal battle between the University of Marmot, their commercial sponsors for the project, the Spanish materials company EC Nesnon, and the giant Nordic condom manufacturer, Swededom, regarding both ownership and application.

The downsides of the new material are that the early tests indicate that any audio capacitor based upon PPK will require a burn-in time of at least one year. However, audio experts have indicated that it will be theoretically possible to dramatically reduce this time by not bothering.

Additionally, PPK has been reported to give off a very distinct odour of curry – an attribute which is presumed to be disadvantageous in its application in any commercial application.

Disappointingly, we should not expect to see PPK capacitors on the market very soon, as, Lars Bolox the R&D manager of Swedish commercial sponsor of the development of PPK, Swededom, has indicated that all current R&D funds for PPK are currently targeted to the development of a range of novelty condoms for the Indian subcontinent.

END----

Editorial note: CONTACT DETAILS FOR MARMOT UNIVERSITY, EC NESNON, SWEDEDOM TO FOLLOW

Can anyone confirm this?

Good one, but I caught it at Marmot since we don't have any such university here.
Smell of curry, that would be useful as a replacement for traditional magic smoke. :-)

I wonder what the role of the "giant Nordic condom manufacturer, Swededom" was in developing such caps....

I always thought that one size fits all.....
