Hello Skullkeeper, the ebay listing has a link to the datasheet for this panel. If you scroll down to page 7, you will find the voltage and current ratings for the panel. According to the datasheet, you need a power supply rated for 5v with at least 1/4A of current capability. I would go with a supply that puts out at least 1 amp, that was you have a nice large buffer window and the power supply will run cooler and last longer. Looking a little further, it can also run off of a 3.3v power supply.
Peace, Dave Gerecke |

cool thank you thats what i was thinking but im not to good at this kinda thing still learning. on my lcd controler it has a chip kinda like a prosesser chip but smaller and it has a sticker that says 12v 5v 3.3v so i guess any of the 3 would work but i think ill go with 5v 1amp.

Hello Brandon, Can you post a link to the datasheet of the LCD Controller, it might be good to have others take a look at it also. It's possible that the chip needs all three voltages, just one, or some other combination.

Hello Brandon, From what I read on the docs for the LCD driver board, it appears that the board will output the necessary voltage to drive the LCD screeen, and setting the correct jumper position on J501 will set the output voltage to the one you want. To power the board it seems that it needs a 12v power supply, at least 2.5 amps total to handle the power needs of the board and the LCD monitor.
Hopefully someone else will give some input to confirm or refute my input. Peace, Dave |

12v @ 4 amps should work fine. Having extra current available is a good thing. If the equipment doesn't need it, it won't use it, but a supply that is designed to be able to supply more current that it is being asked for will run cooler and be more reliable and long lasting. There are other factors that affect the life of a power supply (like anything else), but this will definitely help the supply last longer.
Peace, Dave |
