Is this a ceramic capacitor - help identify
There are two of these KC103P discs attached to the AC power input lines in one of my SS amps.
Are these .01uf ceramic capacitors.
If these are ceramic caps, would swapping them out for polypropylene or teflon caps like auricap or v-caps improve the sound of the amp.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
They are probably 10 nF Murata ceramic caps. They're there for suppression of HF rubbish probably in order to comply with radio interference regulations (Fcc?).
IMHO swapping them won't make any discernable difference, but that's just my opinion. If you do swap them, make sure the replacements are rated for use on mains voltages and can withstand transients (spikes), for safety reasons!
Thank you for the reply and comments.
Will leave them as is for now.
