Reliable source of 2SC3953??

Dear sir,
I have some seemingly genuine Sanyo 2SA1538E and now I am searching for its NPN counterpart 2SC3953. Locally only RS carries it but this is from Magnatec . I tried to buy on xBAY, but I got faked ones (tested to be PNP transistors with a lowly Hfe=50) and has to returned them to the seller.

I see Newark sells this transistor too, sourcing from MCM. In fact, MCM sells two versions ($1.2/pc and $3.85/pc) but the pricer one is back-ordered. Is the cheaper one faked or not genuine part (such as Magnatec)?

If anyone knows a reliable source that selling worldwide, I am all ears.

Fairchild has an authentic second-sourced device, ksc3953 - the beta is fairly low at ~60, but the batch variation is very small. I have no idea where stocks are available, unfortunately. If you have a SPICE model for this device, please post it here.

I have gotten quote from some online obsolete part supplier, and finally order 100pcs of 2SC3953E from Component Electronics Inc. in Canada for US$0.8/pcs. I knew nothing about their service/reliability before and just bit the bullet.

Today, the package finally showed up (after being opened and checked by local custom). I have tested two pieces, all NPN and hfe are 136 and 148, safely within the E classification.
