I built this dummy load which uses only two resistors per channel and, depending on the position of the toggle switches, can provide three different loads for amplifier testing. In my case, 4 ohms, 8 ohms, and 16 ohms. If both switches are set to the up position, there is 4 ohms. If both switches are set to the down position, there is 16 ohms. If the switches are one up and one down (doesn't matter which), there is 8 ohms. I mounted the resistors (50 watt in my case) to a heat sink and the toggle switches to an aluminum panel, also mounted to the heat sink with standoffs. I found this useful and thought I would share it.
