Capacitor & diode replacements

Hello to all.Getting ready to replace most of the caps on my 40 yr. old sansui 1000a tube reciever. I know I have to stay as close to the value as possable, but on the voltage side,can I replace the 100,200,400 volt caps with 600 volt replacements? And on the diodes it looks like the largest ones are used in the voltage bridge # 1n4007.there are a dozen others in the chassie, can I change them all to the 1n4007? Thanks, tom

Hi,
are 1n4007 the 1000Vdc version?

Then yes, if your highest voltage <900Vdc.

It is always safe to use a higher rated voltage capacitor than a lower rated one.

But, as the voltage rating goes up so does cost and volume. Will 600Vdc caps fit the space available?

Check to see if any of the caps are AC rated or "X" or "Y" rated.

You MUST use X or Y replacements in those locations.

Why are you changing all the caps and diodes?

1n4007 are rectifier diodes and will not be suitable for replacing the diodes in the receiver section.
