ok, this is my first time building/purchasing some components to build an Crossover, i have a few questions.

Is OK to purchase Mundorf M-CAP® Supreme as my Polypropylene Caps? or is just better to spend more money and try to purchase any oil capacitor?

and About Polyester caps, wich brand you recommend?

There are a lot of different opinions about the subject. Unless you have the opportunity to compare yourself, you will have to rely on somebody's opinion. I cannot personally comment on the subject having BLH loudspeakers with a single fullrange driver.

You can start with these:

wow, after read some reviews, i really was thinking.... is good to go 2 or 3 ways ? :S

I really think that if ppl purchase 150-200USD caps to make an crossover, they maybe can spend more money purchasing an better driver!, how is possible that caps will be TOO EXPENSIVE?!?!!?

im thinking seriously abt go to 3 ways or just spend all these money in maybe better drivers.

What type of setup do you have ?
- Tube amp or solid state ?
- Low power, high power ?
- Room size ?

samsagaz 9th February 2009 01:39 AM

room size 6mt x 5mt.

Right now i have solid State Amps and some chipamps (i will build an tube amp this year, but dont know when).

i want more SPL, right now im using FR125S Full Range Drivers (using just one / box).

I sold an B&W 602 S2 a few months ago. I want to build an better box than my old B&W 602. I was thinking abt go 3 ways (was thinking abt build an Acapella SE because i have G2Si tweeters in Stock).

Was searching for other Full range drivers too, to avoid purchase expensive crossover parts, but dont know where to go!, i like the sound of FR125 but want more SPL for this room. Maybe build another box or use multiple drivers / box, i currently have 5 FR125 in stock.

Wait untill you price some large value air core inductors used in the bass sections. And then you want to experiment with different values...yikes.
Yet another reason to go active crossovers.
