I need a PS decoupling cap that is physically small 10x12mm but fairly large in value(3.3uf or more). I've found that Roederstein makes a 3.3uf MKT cap but I was wondering how this would compare to a 10uf Black Gate N cap sonically? Thanks.

This is personal opinion and should be taken as such...
The 'N' series is, of course, non-polar. If you are using it for PS bypass/decoupling, why the more expensive cap? Use a BG 'C' or 'Standard' to get the job done. If you really need a cap that large, and are hurting for space, then your choices are pretty limited. I'd take a good film cap over a BG any day, but sometimes there is no other way to get the job done. |
