Can I solder to this 0.25" terminal or do I need to use a female quick disconnect?

As a habit I usually wipe down parts with a little iso alcohol, to clean off any oils, etc. ( I think this is important )
Gold is soft and heats quick.
I have a flux pen and apply to the tab, and pre-tin.
Those look similar to the long speaker terminals I have used from PE.
Haven't had any problems yet.

So there are no problems with the gold plating?

Actually soldering Gold plating parts with Tin plated solder does cause problems. You can scrape off the gold plating and solder to the base metal. You can also solder and remove the solder several times to help dissolve the gold and solder to the base metal.

While it isn't supposed to be a solution, I have used silver bearing solder alloys such as SN 62 that seemed to work better on gold plated parts than 60/40.

Some of the cadmium alloy solders are supposed to solder well with gold plated parts, but because of the toxicity issues it's near impossible to find.
