I am trying to get a handle on the Powercon as a replacement for the usual IEC socket to connect to a normal house outlet. Can somebody clarify the warnings that I have read about the Powercon connectors?
1. Attention: The PowerCon® is a connector without breaking capacity, i.e. the PowerCon® should not be connected or disconnected under load or live! 2. Note: PowerCon® is not designed to be a "mains" connector or for speaker/amplifier applications. I just can't seem to think of any major differences that would warrant the warnings other than liability or certification issues. I'm guessing the first is a fuseless situation. I'm not sure why the second applies. |
