binding posts

What binding posts do you guys use for your amps?

I seem only to find the really expensive ones (WBT, Mundorf, Furutech and such) or the really cheap ones.

Is there a nice alternative in between? Or do I really have to use Speakons?

Thanks for the hint for the Cardas! Where can I get them from? Partsconnexion?

By the way, in the meantime I figured out that there are some more alternatives on the market...just look into loudspeaker DIY-shops. Intertechnik also has some nice looking parts.

I'm not a big fan of the Cardas... if you need exotic the Eichmann are good... for good quality at a moderate price these ones from Parts Conexxion are our preferred ones

Too much metal in those. I have a growing collection of those that i've stripped out to replace with better, but less expensive plastic nut ones.

That's better. I'm not one of those that believes there is magic in a connector. It needs to be able to conduct the current adequately and not oxidize into a poor connection.
These fit the bill.

As I don't bother with sound differences between connectors and such, I do like nice looking, quality parts. The Connex parts would fit my bill

One trick is to not solder to the post, but rather, run the wire out through holes next to the posts and use the posts as a compression terminal to clamp the speaker cable to the output leads. Bypass the post nearly entirely, for simplest path.

Both the $1 and $2/pr sets from Steve are better thou, and much cheaper.
