Broken Drum Core Inductor

I noticed a rattle in my oscilloscope case when I took it out of storage after a move. One of the dumbbell shaped drum core inductors had broken at the point where the shaft meets the bottom disc. The coil has only unraveled a few turns and I think I can salvage it if I work carefully. Assuming I am able to situate everything back where it was, will I compromise any electrical or magnetic properties by supergluing the disc back to the shaft?

Thanks in advance,
Nick
