Belden 1694A and MCM 50-2115

Will this combo work?

I have blisters on my fingers from making some cable assemblies with these connectors and Belden 1695A.

At first, I abandoned this approach and went with Canare RCA crimp-ons. Eventually, I ran out of those and had to return to the MCM connectors or have another delay.

These can work with Belden 1694A, but first the connector threaded fitting must be drilled larger. 9/32" worked fine. Then the braided shield needs to be folded back onto itself, so the compression ferrule can make sufficient contact. Install the ferule, and trim any of the braid sticking out. Solder the male pin, and then assemble the connector.

These are good quality connectors, but not as nice as the Canare RCA. The MCM connectors are more likely to fail a pull test, but at about 60% of the cost.

I don't know much, but I can tell you that a $0.99 CAT5 cable stripping tool will make prepping the coax a lot easier. You'll tear up the blade fairly quickly prepping the braid, but hey - the tool is $0.99!

I won't use MM connectors - they source from the "vendor of the day" so there's little consistency. I prefer BTX www.btx.com who will sell you brand name Neutrik about a dollar cheaper than MM.
