Looking for uk source for tosh microprocessor TMP87C846NG.ANY HELP ?

I assume this is for your Marantz.
This microprocessor has ROM code in it - i.e. its software is programmed into it at manufacture for a specific application.
Only ones programmed for the Marantz will work.

I don't know that marants, but its VERY uncommon for microprocessors to just die. It's much more usual for other components that the processor relies on to fail, like voltage regulators, output buffers etc.

You need to go around EVERY pin on the micro, not just with a DVM but scope them as well.
