Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find the schematics for ADCOM GFA-5802? Secondly are these two transistors inter ahngeable, IRF610 & 2SC4793? I'll greatly appreciate any help. |

since I havent reviewed the schematic for the 5802 i cant tell you for sure but 2sc4793 is a BJT while IRF610 is a mosfet device, they have very different characteristics although they can be used for the same purposes their implementation is usually different and not directly interchangeable.
regards. datasheet here. http://www.toshiba.com/taec/componen...nc/66/7846.pdf

Thanx for the reply, I did download the schematics from www.hifiengine.com but could hardly make out the labeling of parts since they're not clear and was hopeing to find a clearer layout elsewhere that's why I posted the request.
Concerning the interchangeability between IRF610 & 2SC4793 transistors, I just finished repairing an ADCOM GFP-750 in which I had to replace a bad 2SC4793 and the proiblem was resolved. With a second GFP-750 though, an IRF610 was used instead of the 2SC4793 as in the first one. All other component values and circuit layout seemed the same. Except where there was 2SC4793 in the previous one the second has IRF610 instead. I've a lot of 2SC4793 left overs from the lot I ordered from DIGIKey and was thinking of using them instead of ordering the IRF610. Any suggestions? |

Hi Redcrow It depends on where you are using it, my thougth is if it worked for Adcom there is a good chance it will work in your circumstance, Id like to tell you to go for it but its really your call.
Im still trying to source a better schematic and more info. regards

I just looked carefully on the GFA-5802 schematic and it looks like they really designed the circuit with mosfet technology in mind, I don't know about this one Redcrow there is a lot of mosfet to risk. Id go with the 610 just to make sure.

Thanks Very much, I'm going to stick with The IRF610, seems Adcom switched components along the way in their various GFP-750 designs. The schematics I have for the 750 listed 2SC4793 instead of IRF610. but for the fact that the 610 is printed on the board makes it less a case of mis-match.
Again thanx for the reply. |
