I'd like to install 2 volume controls in my preamp. I want to compare the sound of an Alps pot with a stepped resistor type. I anticipate the stepped attenuator will sound better but the remote functionality might be convenient sometimes. Complicating the issue is that the Alps pot I have is part of an IR remote board. Both get input before the preamp circuit.
I'd like to simply install a toggle switch between the two. What is the best way to do this so both input and output of each volume is disconnected from the circuit when not switched?
