Hey guys,
I need a little help designing a circuit. I feel somewhat skilled in electronics, but I still dont feel comfortable drawing up a circuit on my own and relying on it. Basically I need some sort of relay system that detects when the power goes out and prevents my components from turning back on until I press a reset button. I know I need a handful of relays, one of which has to 'hold' somehow, possibly on its own contact? Anyway, if anyone could help me bring it all together so I could build it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks. JJ Manton |

Hi,
You haven't said whether it's mains AC or DC high or low voltage your switching but one simple way is to use the "output" side of the relay to power that same relays coil. Power goes off, relay drops out. The "reset" button would be a momentary switch that shorts out the relay contacts thus energising the coil again and the relay is again "self powered". No electronics involved |
