These come in varieties that include or don't include a zero crossing detection circuit.
For the latter case, a digital pot chip w/o a zero crossing detection circuit, how objectionable is the noise or popping each time a new pot value is written? I intend to use a microcontroller to adjust the pot value one step at a time. Is there an application note or additional circuitry required to manage this potential source of noise? Thanks! |

Thanks, but out of ~140 posts, not one addresses my question on noise when changing pot settings w/o zero crossing detection circuitry.
Does anyone have hands-on experience? |

its called zipper noise and ppl using relay a rotary switch can both live with it .
