Question Source for Extruded Heat Sinks - longer lengths

I am having difficulty finding a supplier for extruded heat sinks. Years ago I remember buying something like a 6 foot length and able to cut to length as needed. I cut them to the length of the chassis.

I live in the U.S., anyone have recommendations or good experience?

Thanks.

You can have a look at the Ebay user barrredboss
He have 5-3/8 and 8-1/2" wide heatsink at the length you want (up to 49")

I bought a long chunk of heatsink extrusion through a local electronics distributor. Take a look at the Wakefield, Aavid or Thermalloy catalogs... I'm sure one of them had a section with extrusion profiles that could be ordered. IIRC, delivery was slow, and I suspect the factory dumped a rejected piece on me because one fin was extruded at an angle to the others.

The heatsink manufacturer's website should have a list of local distributors and manufacturer's reps that you can order through.

I agree with the above suggestion to try barredboss. He does not charge for custom cuts and you pay for exactly the lengths you get (he does not charge for the kerf.) I just bought 4x 6" lengths for my leach amp and got them pretty quickly. I still need to find a place to have them anodized.

I found one near Nashville, TN when I was searching for an anodizer that could handle 9000 series aluminum. I'll have to dig back through my notes, but I remember they did anodizing for KTM and they would do custom colors, fades, multi-dips, etc. No web site, just a phone number of the shop. Very helpful over the phone with just my initial questions and the rate they quoted me for a multi-color, full custom fade was extremely reasonable. I need to find their name again for an anodizing job o one of my projects too.
