Default Help with part substitute

Hello I have a pair of Radio shack Electrostat headphones that are in need on a repair.

I believe they were hooked up to a amp that was too powerful, and the 3.3R PTH has blown. It is drawn on the schematic as a resistor with a circle around it, and is about 1/2inch circle disc. I would guess that its a Varistor/MOV/Thermistior type unit, but what would I use as a modern day replacement. I have found little info on the Net about PTH resistors.

Thank you for any help
