Default Need help to identify potentiometer in amc 1030

Hi guys, i need help to evaluate the code part from amc cvt1030as service manual, i would like to change the potentiometer, which i learn would improve the sound.

written on the part list:
29-4165-2 pot, volume RK16122BOR76-20KAx2-EK
or might be RK1612280R76-20KAx2-EK

the writting is blurry, its either "Bo" or "80" or "B0" or "8o"

does the above value bring any information?
the potentiometer for stereo and has balance, by balance i mean that we can set left and right volume differently. the pot has 6 legs

whats the value of the pot? 20k ohm?
whats the equivalent upgrade from TKD pot that is the same with above.

thanks in advance
erwin

do you have an ohmmeter? if so the value of the pot is very easy to measure. the six pins sounds like its a typical dual ganged stereo pot.

The codes seem to indicate a dual ganged 20K Log pot...

while facing the back of the pot, measure the resistance between the leftmost terminal and the rightmost terminal of the three. do not connect to the center terminal (wiper). this resistance reading will be (approx, within 5-10 percent) the value of the pot. imo, don't rely on package markings when you don't have to, as they can be misleading.

yes, installing the wrong value could cause problems.

Yes Pots are sensitive to heat ,Just like all Components heat is the enemy.... Pots aren"t as sensitive as some transistors and other passive components but I have ruined a couple pots by useing too much heat....Actually the ruined pots still worked but were really scratchy and would intermitantly short out....

Just make sure your Iron is Hot and tinned and your wire is tinned before soldering as the tinned lead will solder better than a bare copper wire....

Cheers
