Folks:
Is 32 gauge wire suitable for line level signals in a preamplifier? I have a 25' spool of very high quality 32 AWG silver wire and was thinking of using it in an Aleph P 1.7 project. I'd like to use this stuff in something good, but only if it is right for the job. Thank you, Scott |

I don't see why it wouldn't be ok to use unless you have some long runs of it since it is pretty small. I'd be more worried about physically breaking the wire.

32AWG is good for roughly 90mA in transformer use. Probably twice that as wiring in open air. As long as you don't cook it, I say go for it.
Allen Wright had good results with thin wire. Cheers! |
