Hi,
I have a lineout signal from a mixer unit that I would like to hook up to a 10K log pot in order to control the volume, before it goes off to a headset. I have wired: - signal +ve from mixer to pin 3 (right-most) of pot - signal ground to pin 1 (left-most), and headset -ve - output wiper from pot to headset +ve When I turn the pot, the volume range varies nicely. The problem is that full anti-clockwise on the pot is "max volume" and full clockwise is "min volume", ie. it is reversed. In all other respects the variation in volume throughout the range is perfect. I must be missing something simple here. Please can someone explain to me how to wire it such that full anticlockwise gives low volume and full clockwise gives max volume? I've tried swapping the various connections around, but no joy. In particular, if I swap the connections to pins 1 and 3 of the pot, I get the correct direction in change of volume, but for the majority of the pot travel from zero to around 80% CW there is no output. Between 80% and 100% CW the output is max volume - ie. there is a surge of volume and not a uniform change like there was when the direction was reversed. Appreciate any ideas... Mervin |
