I have seen in several pictures a TO-220 heatsink that is about as tall as the package, but has fins that go behind the device. It looks like a hole must be tapped into the heatsink to attach the device.
Here's one such example: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/attac...amp=1177380359 I'm assuming these are non-US parts, perhaps Fischer, or I just haven't seen them around much. Bottom line, is I need something about the height of the device itself, and these might just work perfect if I can find them |

There's a standard series of Aavid/Thermalloy parts that look like that. Digi-key has them,
