Found out how to decipher date code for Nippon Chemi-cons:
First digit is the year
Second digit is the month: 1-9 and O-N-D
third digit is the day: A-Z and a-e
the next digit or two is the factory line
the next is the factory: L = Lansing
then comes the lot #
so for "40c14L 72":
date: 2004, Oct 29
factory line: 14
factory: Lansing
lot #: 72
Don't know how they distinguish 1994, 2004, or 2014, unless they add another digit. Factory tech didn't know, but didn't think KMH series was around in 1994.
