LED VU meter after amp or preamp?

i recently built a led vumeter but, i have to connect it to the preamp or the amp?

If you connect it to the pre-amp output it will show the level of any source selected by the pre-amp.

Please make sure the LED switching circuit can not feed noise back into the signal path. Also, watch out for new ground loops.

Hi hernanstafe,
you have to consider the sensitivity of the vumeter also.
Amplifiers output voltage is normally a lot higher than a preamp.

You are absolutely correct, hernanstafe did not specify sensitivity. Those indicators powered by the speaker drive voltage are not very satisfactory in my experience.
