Is there any company sending out free capacitor or resistor samples?

I have managed to get some free samples of Wima caps, but only because I go skiing with the sales manager of one of their UK distributors.

Wima supposedly do a sample box of surface mount caps, but their web site crashed out every time I tried to order.

Other than that, despite spending many hours searching the Internet, I have found nothing.

hey if you have contacts to wima, you should try to get a leftover roll of film foil. If they give you it will be enough for some dozend DIYers to build electrostatic speakers with.

The thought had crossed my mind already!

My mate Andy who gets the samples for me has promised to check it out next time he is over there on a product briefing.

Three stars for TI / BurrBrown - they sended me a lot of parts already, all mostly within two days from USA to Austria. Great !

One star only for National, who sended a few samples only once, and although I wanted to qualify the (amplifier-)project together with my students, refused to send me other, different ones yet.

OK, they have a sree sample box site

http://www.wima.com/navig/smdsp.htm

and the site works with netscape ok. follow the hint about you browser cache.

The problem is, the samples offer looks like fake. I tryed 2 times with University adress - no response. A friend tryed also - they ggave him the " good advice" to buy small quantitys at Bürklin. OK, thats like buying mineral water in a Pharmacy....

Maybe some of you want to try and please post your result....

Klaus, try to get in contact with your distributor in your country. Much easier to get more samples, I suppose. In Sweden it's easy to get parts if you call the distributor, I mean CALL, not email!
