Connect TV to Aux??

Hi, i'm new, and I would like to connect my TV to my Bose WaveRadio through the aux but my tv doesn't have a headphone jack to put an Aux cord in. I was wondering the cheapest possible way to get around this.

Buy yourself a cable with a headphone plug at one end and 2 RCA plugs at the other end.

Most importantly, do not attempt to take the TV apart to make connections internally. CRTs use very high voltages and are highly dangerous, even qualified service engineers need specialist tools and lots of experience to work on them safely. Because of this, we do not allow posts that encourage this practice on diyAudio.

If your TV has no headphone out jack, then your only other possible alternative is if it has a Scart conector on the back, these sometimes have audio out connections. If it has, you would need to google the pinouts, and make up an adaptor lead. If not, you're out of luck I'm afraid.

Not all TVs even have line isolation transformers, and you really don't want to mess around with that. If the TV is transformer isolated, there can still be big hum problems with user installed jacks; that then has to be fixed with an audio isolation transformer, so as pinkmouse says, if it hasn't got a jack already, it isn't worth your life to install one.

run the tv signal thu a vcr 98% of vcr's have audio out....

If your TV doesn't have RCA audio outputs, just check on the local Craigslist and get yourself a better TV. People who've bought flat-panel displays are practically giving away some very decent 27" to 36" CRT sets.

You can also check around for cable box converters with audio outs, since those will generally offer remote volume and mute.
