http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datashe...C/STK2250.html

i am just looking at an akai amp with the STK 2250 chip in it (i think its basically the same but only mine is 2 x 50watts yours is 2 x 40 watts.

if you want another one you can have mine. the amp worked minus the bass/trebble circuit which needed a obsolete ic and i didnt feel like bypassing or cludging in a new circuit for it. just pay for shipping and its yours. ill even take it to work and use the vacuum solder sucker to remove the chip...

hope the data sheet helps. let me know if you want the ic or anyone else for that matter

Dave

P.S. i live in Alberta Canada just in case you want to check shipping

These STK's were used in countless midi style systems in the late 80' and 90's. Many were interchangable, we used to order by the bucketfull. Punters ( sorry customers ) were always managing to blow these up.
They are OK to play around with but you can do far better these days. Many are still available,

Yes, short the speaker outputs on these IC's and they're toast.

Default Me too

Yea me too, dead R500 yammie.
Where can I find this chip cheap (no its not mexican speak for ship shape).
Removing this chip made the receiver light up, it was dead and blowing fuses before that.
Cool.

Default Fixed - sorta

OK I pulled a chip out of another dead R500 that had a different issue and put it in this and have it working - sorta. I dont have left channel in the stereo mode. In mono mode, both channels work fine.
I am at a loss now. Anyone know what it could be.
Cool.
Srinath.

Could be anything. If it's OK in Mono, that suggests both outputs left and right are OK... so you are looking further back (toward the inputs )
Experience says that small signal stuff is so reliable generally that it could well be something physical such as cracked print, or a man made fault somehow.

Default Works now.

OK I did nothing, just left it running for 1 hour, and it works fine in stereo now.
Thinking it just was bad contacts etc.
Cool.
Srinath.
