computer CD/CDR use as a simple CD player?

I can't seem to find the thread..., apologize in advance.

I have 2 CD/CDR that has been retired from desktop PC duties, and wonder how difficult it is to mod to use as a simple CD player.

thanks,

gychang

The easiest kind is one that already has a "play" button on the front panel. If you're the kind of person that just puts a disc in and plays it all the way through, that's all you need. Most of 'em have S/PDIF digital out, too. To power it, pick up an old external SCSI case, which will get you a nice (if off-white computer beige can be described as "nice") case and power supply.
