I am in the beginning stage of putting together amp6 (t-amp clone). While I was winding the toroid inductor with the 0.5mm copper wire, it broke off. The size is similar to 24 gauge.

I am unable to find a replacement, closest at local craftshop sells 24 gauge copper wire but without the enamel coating as the original amp6 wire.

Any experts here?
Where can I get a proper replacement?, I assume the enamel coating is a must?. Radioshack has wire but is little too thick at 22 gauge.

would like some help.

thanks,

gychang

Hi,
if BWRX had not kindly offered some spare, you must use enamelled copper wire.
It is usually sold on 100gm, 500gm or 1kg reels.
Generally available from many sources.
It is sometimes called magnet wire but best to check what the spec is before buying.

In the UK, I use The Scientific Wire Company (SWC).
