inductor volume control , any good low price sources?

I am looking for a transformer based approx 24 steps of 1dB inductor with high inductance core, preferably an auto transformer...lets say the tribute version at the cheap

Anyone know a decently priced source for such an exotic piece?

in my humble opinion audiophile does not necessarily mean ridiculously expensive......

I am very willing to pay a reasonable price for material and labour, and even a profit margin on top, but I refuse to pay the extortionist amounts some people dare ask.....

The cost buildup in the high end of HIFI, I have been active in that market with interlinks and have seen both the going prices in shops and the factory prices.....

So anyone has something to add to the question, alternatives or other sources for a inductor volume control are still welcomed

I parted a Collins receiver many years ago that had such a beast. If you have hamfests around, you may find one there for a song.
