Car battery, good idea?

I have several boxes that work on 12 or 9 Volts:
1-Leach mc (twice 9V)
2-Shek dac d2 (12V)
3-Record player Scheu (9V)

Now I was consdering battery powering these devices. But I was wondering If I use a car battery in combination with small isolation transformers and small stepdown transformers (custom made probably). I would then have a lot of amperes, only one battery to charge. The transformers would isolate the devices and stepdown the voltage to 9 Volts?

Will this work?

Transformers only work on AC, not DC. You could use resistors or regulators to reduce the voltage and isolate the devices. If you have the charger connected and operating while using the devices, you will see no benefit in noise reduction. You will probably have more noise than the dedicated power supplies for the units.

Thanks, DonS

Thanks Don S, I forgot about the dc-ac thing...

Just use 3 pin voltage regulators. . . the output is isolated.
